Investing in the wellbeing of your employees can boost resilience, foster better employee engagement, engender a reduction in sickness absence and increase performance and productivity.
That’s why we felt inspired to put together a practical, concise workplace wellness course. This one-day course is designed to help you invest in your staff and provide them with the tools to change their habits and mindset for the better. We call it Feeding the Mind, and today we thought we could discuss what’s involved in the course and how it aims to help you, your workforce and your business.
The importance of workplace wellness
In a world where the conversation around mental and physical health is always growing, there is increasingly less space for employers to disregard their role in caring for the wellbeing of employees, and rightfully so!
Alongside this shift, the NHS is facing consistently increasing pressures and access to healthcare is becoming an ever greater problem. This makes it even more important for employers to fill in the gaps and provide education and support around health and wellness.
The Health and Wellbeing at Work survey conducted by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in 2022 demonstrated the top three benefits of employers increasing the focus on employee wellbeing to be…
A healthier, more inclusive work culture
Improved work-life balance
Better employee morale and increased engagement
As such, it’s in the interests of both employers and employees for organisations to ensure that they have a holistic framework in place to support the physical health and safety, and the mental health, of the workforce. A happier workforce will also help you to improve staff retention and reduce employee turnover!
Despite all of this, less than half of UK companies currently engage in staff wellness programmes. We believe that this needs to change, which is why we’re passionate about promoting workplace wellness and making it more accessible to employers.
How Vagus Wellbeing can help
Myself and Lyn Hatch (of Feel Well Health and Wellness Coaching) have put together a practical and concise one-day course that is designed to help you bring wellness education to your employees in a way that is simple, accessible and engaging.
“Our aim during the Feeding the Mind programme is to arm you with heaps of tips, inspiration, and all that you need to make some small changes which can have a GIANT impact on your life!” - Lyn Hatch
Our Feeding the Mind course is intended to engender positive change in the wellbeing of your employees, nurturing the idea that healthier and happier employees lead to a healthier, more productive business and a better working environment for everyone.
The course is divided up into five sessions that will take place throughout the day, playing out like this:
9.00 - 10.30: Exploring our own health and wellbeing
10:45 - 12:30: Motivation and exploring stress
13:30 - 15:00: Avoiding the afternoon slump, food tasting and positive coping strategies
15:15 - 16:30: Sleep and movement, and food diaries
16:30 - 17:00: Your next actions and Q&A
The sessions are designed to be totally interactive, engaging and informative. Of course, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for reflection and discussion, as well as ample tea and coffee breaks as the day ticks on.
“The power of food and lifestyle is immense, and Lyn and I want to share our passion and knowledge with you so everyone can benefit!” - Julie Pichler
We hope to facilitate a positive learning environment, where employees will leave feeling uplifted, motivated to make healthy changes and valued by you as their employer.
